My Story

I am Dr Danica-Lea Larcombe, master perfumer and director of Eco Verdant.  Botanical Gardens inspire me to create beautiful natural perfumes.  Their sense of awe and colour and grandness, and all of the natural scents that waft gently up my nose - these are the things that awaken my senses and make living on this wonderful planet of ours worthwhile.  This is connecting to myself and to nature!

When I first started exploring these raw botanicals I was astonished to find such depth in the scents.  I also delight in the art of creating handmade tinctures out of rare or unusual raw botanical materials to use in my blending library. Synthetic perfumes may last longer on the skin, but they cannot capture the melding together of natural molecules, the extensive array of rare raw materials, or the complexity of natural perfume that ages gracefully.

All other natural materials are sourced from reputable suppliers and may be organic or wild-harvested but all are ethically grown and harvested.

Within all of these luxurious sensual blends, is a desire to reconnect people both to themselves and to nature, to discover the intricacies of the miracle that is the botanical world. I recognise that each person has a different personality, odour recognition and skin microbiome which is in tune with basic Ayurveda principles.

I come from a background of environmental health, research in biodiversity and health (PhD), botanical drawing; and am a certified perfumer (Natural Perfume Academy).  Memberships include the International Perfume Foundation (Paris), InVIVO Planetary Health (New York) and the Centre for Ecosystem Management (Perth). I hope that you will discover your unique memory scent with Eco Verdant Perfumes.
